Graffiti Prague from Obik - Czech Republic

Graffiti and street art from Obyk - Prague Czech Republic

My name is OBIQUE from Prague city, Czech Republic and i am writing my name at this forms like OBIK, OBYK, OBIC, OBYC.

I have started make graffity at 1996 together with my crew GNK (other guys continued with crews like CMR, UZK, KGS...and more).

At beginings we were classical young guys street and train bombers, maybe you knows from magazines like Terrorist magazine. This times continued with problems with a law and my break to stop drawing for 5 or 6 years...But last year i have catched new impulse to make again.
I have already feel from graffiti something else then only adrenaline, street and trains never was priority for me. I always like dramatic pieces with a personal attitude.

About my moment style:
During my break i was still interest into graffiti, but i was bored with a classic form (fillin, outline, shadows). I am also interest into graphic design, momentally my job. This year I am working at my new graffiti age, you can call it (The second born of Obic)

I want to connect my interest at fonts, graphic and graffiti into something new, which will be my way. At the first place is still my name, like in graffiti, but i want to make it with a different technics maximal close to me.

Because is very difficult to describe what i feel in different language so everything essentials are at pictures.

More of them you can find at www.fotolog.com/obic

festival

exhibition

Visit
Name Fest - Street art Festival

For the first time, Prague is to become a gathering place for
the best street art and graffiti artists from all around the
world. More than 40 artists will be given an opportunity to do
a piece on legally secured sites in Prague. From 22 to 29
August they will work both individually and collectively in
the streets of Prague 9 – Vysočany at carefully selected
locations, ridding them of dull concrete greyness and changing
them into an original part of a large gallery that is the
city.

The festival will run from 29 August until 7 September in
Trafačka Gallery, an important contemporary art venue, and in
the surrounding area. From 8 September until 13 October the
festival will continue as an exhibition of selected works.

As a part of the accompanying programme, visitors will be able
to participate in panel discussions with various themes, City
Walks around Prague, the Best Piece competition, the Audience
Award and the Graffiti Jam. A colour book/catalogue with many
reproductions of works created during the event, interviews
with the participating graffiti artists and a number of
interesting annotations will be published. A documentary film
about the festival, graffiti and street art will be produced.
